Arizona Winter Getaways - From golf to shopping

Do you have a desire to travel this winter, but do not know where to go? How about a place where great hiking, golf can, skiing, shopping and ruins to explore? And in another couple of hours? Of course this place is Arizona, a state that offers travelers an infinite number of things to do in the winter.

Hiking

Superstition Mountains: One of the best places for winter hiking in the Arizona Superstition Mountains, east of Apache Junction, east of Phoenix. They are best known for the legendary Lost Dutchman Mine. Legend has it that the Mine of Jacob Waltz (the Dutch) discovered, still contains a large reserve of gold. That is, if someone could find them. You can select among the many who have tried to mine (some have died trying) to find, or might, the Superstition Mountains in search of the great migrations of many others who have the courage. Do not forget to visit Lost Dutchman State Park, where you can find a variety of hikingHiking trails and ranger tours and evening excursions full moon in winter and spring.

Golf

Arizona is also a great place to play golf in the winter. A couple of golf courses are worth noting:

Grayhawk Golf Club is located in Scottsdale, Grayhawk Golf Club is the two golf courses, Talon and Raptor, which have been recipients of numerous awards over the years, including "Top 100 you can play in the U.S." by Golf Magazine .

TroonNorth Golf Club: Two courses to Troon North Golf Club: Monument and Pinnacle courses. Even in Scottsdale, Troon North Golf Club has received numerous awards including being named No 21 in the nation and No. 1 in Arizona by Golf Magazine.

Skiing

There's skiing in Arizona? Yes, of course. Arizona has not only the sun in winter, but also has some points in the state to go skiing.

Sunrise Park Resort: Sunrise Park ResortGreer is located in the eastern part of the state, only 4 hours drive from Phoenix and Tucson. Owned and operated by Monte Bianco Apache Tribe, Sunrise Park has 8 lifts and 65 trails for all abilities. There is also a separate snowboarding area, children's pool, trails, and tubing hills.

The Arizona Snowbowl: The Arizona Snowbowl on the San Francisco Peaks above Flagstaff, and only a few hours from Phoenix. With 32 routesand 4 lifts, Arizona Snowbowl is one of the oldest continually run ski areas in the United States. If snowboarding is more your style, they also offer a park land with rails and boxes.

Explore the ruins of the American Indians

You could go an entire vacation plan in Arizona from the ruins of ruins, but if you just visit Phoenix and you have only one day should be about an hour and a half on I-17 north to Montezuma Castle, a record, five-story , 12. Century cliff dwellingwith which the Sinagua people home. It is an easy hike on a 1/3-mile loop trail to enjoy a splendid view of the castle. If you have time, drive 11 miles to the north and visit Montezuma Well, where you can see a natural sink hole and built small houses in the steep walls around the hole. A sink hole may sound like a big yawn, but it's really an interesting place to visit.

Shopping

If you go to Arizona for shopping, then you probably want to head forScottsdale, home to luxury resorts, high-end malls, galleries, shops and 5th Avenue. The Scottsdale Arts District in downtown Scottsdale has one of the largest concentration of galleries in the nation, with a variety of art, contemporary art, Western and Indian.

Arizona may also benefit from some of the best antique malls in the country, including the Brass Armadillo in 12 419 N. 28. Drive in Phoenix, where you can spend hours walking theLines of antiques and collectibles. He Glendale, a small town west of Phoenix, like many antique shops in its center, which was called "Arizona's Antique Capital" by readers of the local newspaper. Serious Antiquer I want to dedicate one day to discover the treasures of the city of Glendale.

Of course, the above only a handful of things to do in Arizona in the winter. If you can not do everything in one winter vacation, there's always Spring!
